A summer roundup of homemade bubble recipes, bubble art, bubble play and DIY bubble wands from fellow bloggers. Get those wands ready and turn your backyard into a giant bubble zone.

⚠️ Safety first

  • Bubble snakes: young kids may sip instead of blow. A reader's 2-year-old did exactly that, so supervise closely and practice blowing out first.
  • Bubble solution is soap, not food. Keep it away from mouths and eyes, and rinse with water if it gets in eyes.
  • Soapy ground and floors get slippery. Play outdoors or on a towel or tray.
  • Always supervise water and bubble play with babies and toddlers.

πŸŽ‰ Worked for us

Bubble snakes loved from 10 to 2

A parent made bubble snakes with her kids, and everyone from her 10-year-old to her 2-year-old loved it.

Watch toddlers: blow, don't sip

Her 2-year-old sipped through the bubble snake blower instead of blowing. Supervise little ones closely and show them how to blow out.

β€œapart from when my 2yo sipped instead of blew... you can imagine!!”

Use enough dye for colorful snakes

Her only complaint: they didn't add enough dye, so the bubble snakes came out plain instead of colorful.

β€œwe didnt use enough dye and the snakes were plain”

✨ Readers' twist
