Paint a simple face on a pumpkin for each member of the family, then line them up at your front entry as an easy, adorable Halloween outdoor decoration.

⚠️ Safety first

  • Supervise painting and use kid-safe, non-toxic paint.
  • Paint can stain clothes and surfaces. Use smocks and cover the work area.
  • Whole pumpkins can be heavy. An adult should carry and place the larger ones.

Before the kids arrive

  • Pick out one pumpkin for each family member.

Steps

  1. Choose a pumpkin for each person in the family.

  2. Paint two white circles on each pumpkin for eyes.

  3. Once the white is dry, add black pupils and eyebrows.

  4. Paint on a nose and a smiling mouth.

  5. Add extras like hair or a beard so each pumpkin looks like its family member.

  6. Let the pumpkins dry completely.

  7. Line up your family pumpkins at the entry to your home.

Family Pumpkins: the original post

At our home, we decided to change things a bit and so for outdoor decorating, the entry to our home is decorated with our special “Family Pumpkins” . As always, simple yet so adorable ( if I may say so myself ! )

Halloween also means its going to rain candy. The big Question now is - what do you do with all the candy that’s coming in on this Halloween? Earlier in the season, we did some “Candy Art” with the sugar candies and we are hoping to create some more crafts and also use them in recipes , chocolate ganache from chocolates? Hmm.. well, that’s all for the sneak peek at this hour.

Happy Halloween !
