Fold squares of origami paper into pointy finger cones, tuck the flap into the pocket, and color the tips black for spooky witch fingers. It's an easy, low-mess Halloween craft that's great for parties or waiting at after-school activities.

⚠️ Safety first

  • The paper tips are pointy, so no poking faces or eyes while playing with the fingers.
  • Googly eyes are small parts. Supervise closely or skip them with kids who still mouth things.
  • Use washable markers with younger kids, since the tips get colored close to fingers.

Before the kids arrive

  • Count out 5 squares of origami paper per child (10 if they want both hands).

Steps

  1. Start with a square piece of origami paper.

  2. Bring two opposite corners together and fold to make a triangle.

  3. Fold the triangle in half again to make a smaller triangle.

  4. Bring the top corner down to the center of the opposite base and fold.

  5. Fold the flap over and press a firm crease.

  6. Find the pocket and tuck the flap all the way in.

  7. Slide your finger into the pocket to open the cone.

  8. Color the pointy tip with a black marker for a little spook.

  9. Make one for each finger and wiggle your witch claws!
