Mix the 2-ingredient "Easy Dough" from page 50 of Asia Citro's book 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids in a big bowl. Kids pack it into cold snowballs and stack them into a little snowman.

⚠️ Safety first

  • Check the ingredients in the book's recipe for allergies before you start. The post does not name them.
  • Supervise sensory play at all times. Even taste-safe dough is not a snack, so don't let kids eat it.
  • Small snowman decorations such as cloves and candy are choking hazards. Use them only with older kids, under close supervision, and keep them away from babies and toddlers.

Before the kids arrive

  • Look up the Easy Dough recipe on page 50 of 150+ Screen-Free Activities for Kids and gather the 2 ingredients.

Steps

  1. Make the 2-ingredient Easy Dough from page 50 of the book in a large bowl.

  2. Let the kids dig in and feel the cold, powdery dough.

  3. Squeeze handfuls of dough together to make snowballs.

  4. Fill the bowl with a bunch of snowballs and play.

  5. Stack three snowballs, biggest on the bottom, to build a snowman.

  6. Decorate the snowman with a foam hat and nose and a ribbon scarf.

The ” Yes! I can do this activity with the kids now” part of the book was a big seller for me.
